NOVEMBER 21 2023, Top Pocket performed at The Jazz Room in Waterloo Ontario.
Come on out and listen to the Top Pocket COREtet “Return to Basics”, playing standards and music they haven’t played in over 30 years! We will be doing all our favourite standards and even a couple of originals that lean towards standards. Over the years we’ve written a number of songs that were “standardesch” that we ended up putting on the back burner, in order to move forward with our more funky/fusion style. Now is your opportunity to hear Top Pocket’s take on standards. Please join us for what promises to be a fun night! Hope to see you there!

Following the success of its first two albums,”11:11" and "rocket in my (top pocket)”, the band is currently working on its as yet unnamed third album. With COVID restrictions in place, it's been an interesting process, often recording individually in our home studios and then putting the pieces together. Kind of like a giant puzzle. Numerous emails and texts back and forth, Zoom meetings, and even an actual phone call or two! So far the band has been very pleased with the results and can’t wait to share them with their fans and the public at large.
We’re planning on a summer release in time for our shows at the Walters Family Music Venue, June 22, 2022 and at the uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival July 22 to to the 24th, 2022.
